Apr 12th, at 6: Apr 12th, at 1: I believe the other selling point of the Helo bands is there is an on-call alert service for an extra charge. There is also supposed to be a panic button with GPS tracking that wearers press to alert others in case of an emergency.

An app is suppose to alert friends or family members if the wearer has a health issue needing attention. Seems like a practical feature for members who have sick or elderly friends and family living at a distance.

That and remote vital signs monitoring are the real value here. My dad would be alive today if he was wearing this device during the 48 hours he was at home alone between ER visits.

I primarily review the business as a whole, not specifically products. What info I did include on the bands is from the Wor l d International website. Apr 28th, at 9: When his blood pressure bottomed out my mom was at work.

She had no idea he was getting worse until she got home. He made it a few days, but if she or I had known his vitals he would have been back to ICU within hours and survived. At least that what doc told us.

Thankyou for confirming there are no errors in the review. If only he had access to a device. A device that… somehow monitored pressure in the blood stream. Alas, if only such a device existed.

Its the remote monitoring. And yes, they have a liability disclaimer. You obviously dont see a benefit in remotely monitoring sick or elderly parents vital signs. Please provide a link.

Apparently part of the training must be how to answer a question without answering the question. The products do seem useful although expensive. Unfortunately, this sounds like a textbook pyramid scheme.

Jun 1st, at 6: Typical for most pyramidal schemes and scams. Jun 1st, at You know it looks to me that all the negative people on here have not actually done a side by side comprehensive comparison of Helo LX and these other monitors you claim must be better because they are what, Cheaper?

Oh yeah, the Waltons need some more money. Why not give the average guy a chance? Why are you people so critical of a company that offers a compensation plan for people working and making a living?

Offtopic derail attempt removed. Where else can you go and start a traditional business for that little money and have the opportunity for sharing the product and all of its great benefits and get paid.

The material, labor and overhead are a little scary at times. The doctor and nurses thought it was quite remarkable. There was no pressure. They were not forced to buy.

If not, no problem. Where is the harm in that? Jun 2nd, at 7: Where else can you go and start a traditional business for that little money. I think you just gave the game away chief.

An overpriced products is a strong indication of a lack of retail viability. Jun 2nd, at 8: Because many of those working people havent realized, yet, that they are being manipulated and taken for a ride by seasoned scammers.

Us people want to help them find out the inevitable sooner than later. Believe it or not, some people are very grateful. Jun 2nd, at 9: Oz you are so misinformed. If someone wants to buy the Helo that is it, no other requirement.

Offtopic derail attempts removed. Did you just pick a number out of the air? I only quoted your own words, in which you described helo as nothing more than a conduit to sell a business opportunity.

Compare it to whatever else is out there. If it costs a lot more than Helo is clearly overpriced. Only reason that happens in an MLM is to support a compensation plan. Have you done any research on WGN to give you the impression that they are scammers or are you of this mindset no matter what the company.

Since when is selling a unique and viable product a scam? There are other alternatives to getting you product to market without goin the traditional route of putting on a shelf for wholesale so it can then be marked up to retail.

WGN is ranked 4 in wearable and plan to get to 2 by next year. Is Fitbit a scam? WGN is ranked 4 in wearable. Jun 2nd, at It provides more times the life sensing technology than the rest.

Spend a few days doing a side by side and let me know what you think. Doctors and pharmacists are actually impressed by the technology and are recommending it. The HELO LX will soon have its own medical division that will allow it to be listed as a medical device and be purchased thru insurance programs.

So now Oz, you run price comparison reviews or a better buying advice service. You have done the same with the Blue tooth beacons as well. Oz would you do me a favor?

Google me just one device besides the HeloLX that will provide all the above features I mentioned earlier. Or will I have to go buy 3 or 4 bands to get all that technology on my arm.

If you happened to find one will they pay me a commission for sharing it with some of my friends and family? Retail viability is important in MLM. The one I linked to does everything except blood glucose.

This is about normal, everyday people who are seeking a legitimate opportunity to make money without becoming involved with a company attempting to sell overpriced, overhyped merchandise AND using a pyramid scheme business model.

I looked at alibaba. I saw several that did not even come close. Why are you hung up on MLM? But, if I do they pay me a commission for a sale. They are not paying the big advertising conglomerates.

I mean there is nothing hidden. We have a great product that will help people. Nobody is forcing them to buy. If they see the value in it they buy it. There are millions of people in the world that like the newest and shiniest new technology.

No real need for a non-diabetic to be checking that,. Littleroundman, I am one of those people looking for a good part time opportunity outside of my traditional work.

I knew what it cost when I bought it. It does what they said it would do. I made some money our money back and more. There are no unhappy customers. All are satisfied and some have chosen to share it.

No requests for personal income advice please. Jun 2nd, at 1: Why would I make it up? Anyway that gives you an idea of how much blood glucose monitoring tech is worth. Would you spend a few hundred on the bands without the attached income opportunity?

You know the answer. I know the answer. Which university or lab? How long did the research take? Where are the experiments and results proving this does what it says? I have high blood pressure.

I checked my heart rate, breath rate, blood pressure and ECG with a doctor and a nurse and their clinical devises. My results were almost identical. Which university or lab did the study?

You know they never thought Howard Hughes would ever get the Spruce Goose in the air or ever put a man on the moon. I am one of those people looking for a good part time opportunity outside of my traditional work.

Jun 2nd, at 2: Jun 2nd, at 4: And how many retail Helo orders did you take in May sales to non-affiliates who are still not affiliates today? Jun 2nd, at 5: According to IDC report the top 5 in Q4 were:.

Assuming the market has not collapsed significantly and by the numbers you gave HELO is some 1. If you plan to promote your business with made-up statistics try to at least use numbers that remotely make sense.

Jun 11th, at 5: I do find this helo interesting. A pyramid scheme has no product and the people on top make more than those below. With an MLM anyone can surpass their upline with sales titles or commissions rank or money.

Jun 11th, at 6: A product-based pyramid scheme in MLM has little to no retail activity taking place, and they all have an attached product or service ref: Jun 11th, at 7: Fitbit founded in Apple founded back in They have a track record and are public companies.

Jun 13th, at Typical bunch of people falsely claiming what it does and then 4 weeks later you find out they have not even received their helo!?? Jun 13th, at 8: Entry level of World GN and preluide to Powerclouds scam.

Leasback Investment into solar panels. Collapsed before maturity of investment. Only 4 units were built intead of 20 , promised revenue was higher than realistic production gain of solar panel.

Additional part of World GN. Second generation of phone was a real crap. Similar situation as with World Phones and tablets… promised commissions on reselling noname VR gadget. Trouble was that many affiliates did not receive ordered gods.

Promoted by some nice and hype product photos and videos, no info usability of product from real customers. Looks like Fabio Galdi changes product line based on some buzzword and comp plan each two years, just before investment maturity.

Good luck with promises and buzzwords! Jun 14th, at 1: It actually warned me about my blood pressure 2 weeks ago. They ran tests and blood work. Turns out I had low potassium level.

Look up what happens if your potassium gets to low. Jun 15th, at 6: I am looking right now at the World Global Network opportunity. I am going back and forth if I should do this or not.

I have now read negative reviews on both this site and ripoff report as well. Is there anyone out there that is doing this that is actually making money or is it a complete scam and throwing your money away???

Jun 15th, at 7: The placed an ad in Careerbuilder and I responded back. So is that good or bad or indifferent? If this was you would you do this? I really wanted this to work, but I have been reading a lot of negative reviews.

Very frustrating and so many scams and schemes out there. How are these people not arrested or sued, they prey on the weak and desperate. Thank god I am neither, just trying to find a legitimate business opportunity.

Any suggestions on good legitimate opportunities??? Jun 15th, at 8: Affiliates recruiting affiliates and ignoring retail is bad. Try to get a sense of how many Helo bands this person sold to retail customers over the past few months versus how many affiliates they recruited.

Jun 15th, at 9: Whenever you see products being sold at HALF the cost on other sites then you know the business model is flawed. Jun 15th, at Jun 16th, at 2: I know of 4 people that bought them for personal use only and have no desire to sell them as a business.

I also know the guy that sold it to us. He presented the opportunity but we declined. However, we always have the option in the future if we change our mind.

I thought of him like a door to door salesman with a good product, so I bought it. Jun 19th, at 9: Jun 19th, at I went to check those eBay listings and those seem to be unused devices from individual sellers.

That means someone bought the device from an affiliate and now is selling it forward. Jun 19th, at 1: Often times it is affiliates posing as customers because they dont want to get caught violating the terms and conditions… an easy loophole to avoid getting caught.

Even if they get 50 cents on the dollar then they are better off then stiiting in a closet and rotting away. Jun 22nd, at 1: No surprise to see in the UK a lot of serial dubious opportunities promoters promoting this one hard..

Jun 22nd, at 5: I asked my guy about the eBay prices. He said that may be customers that bought the family pack that came with five and only needed 3 or 4. He said that was completely okay. I looked on eBay for myself and saw maybe 20 or so for sale.

Jun 22nd, at 6: Most with fast and free shipping. Jun 22nd, at 8: We simply exercise far more skepticism than you are used to in your typical peer group. The chances of such a device can exist without being tested, researched and published is nil.

There is no proof that this device does what it says other than testimonials from people who are not qualified to evaluate it. Yes that includes you and me. Jun 22nd, at Also… You do get all the warranties and such when buying it on ebay..

Your buying from an affiliate and it comes with the same guarantee that you would get if you bought it from the company. The whole think is a big scam….. As I have stated in the past..

Came across an ad for this on craigslist that was advertised as a over-glorified work from home opportunity. Looked into it on the website, and not gonna lie, got swept up into the promise of it.

Jun 23rd, at 9: Reading both this and the original article has been awesome. Perhaps some of the folks here might be interested in sharing their stories there as well. Thanks again to the behindmlm.

Jun 23rd, at Do you know what really happens when you attempt to get a refund? Each and every single one says world never issued the refund. Jun 24th, at For example, refunds of credit card transactions will be processed by reversing the payment to the credit card only.

So, the refund will be accepted if the payment was done with a system of payment available from us. In this sense, the order generated with a voucher will be not refunded by the Company.

The normal time for such refunds to reflect in your account is working days. However, evidence precludes such a conclusion. Jun 24th, at 1: From what I understand, purchases require membership, which I suspect is the catalyst for that fee.

Fred, Since you bought yours strictly as an end-user vs. Jun 25th, at 8: That comes with a back office and marketing tools and a lot of other beneficial stuff to help you grow your business. For every month you pay they give 75 reward points.

One speaker was a doctor. My buddy is makin some serious money part time and havin a blast doin it. I also saw Fitbits, Garmens and others on eBay cheaper than retail.

Are they overpriced as well when you are buying retail. Business From Home has the Helo LX as the 1 product for along with being in top of all direct sales companies as stated by Direct Sales Association.

Jun 26th, at 1: The HELO bracelet is history! Jun 26th, at 2: Have you ever actually put one on your wrist and put it to use or are you just jumping on the negative band wagon. Yeah they are coming out with the infolio phone also.

Does that mean they are gonna just drop everything and just peruse something else. It makes life a lot easier for everybody. Please keep this in mind. The information you get from upline is not genuine as they make money OFF you.

I make nothing from you and volunteer my time to try to stop scammers. Scamming veterans makes me even more irate. You are about to be suckered if you let them.

Jun 26th, at 3: Char I appreciate that. I mean my wife probably gets that much out of the washing machine or dryer every month. Nobody forced him to do anything. Jun 26th, at 6: Fred Offtopic is offtopic.

There are over a hundred thousand comments on BehindMLM. The problem is on your end. And none of them was present in the compensation plan long enough to achieve active balance as retailer physical products or get back investment investment products and profit sharing from advertising.

Only way how to get into black numbers was… massive recruiting of the new affiliates. Does not sound it like pyramid scheme? Jun 26th, at 8: But Edison tried times. Steve Jobs failed and got kicked out of his own company.

You guys are typing on a blog. All I know about world is a what is see in real time is on FB and the Internet and my friends that are happy with it. Are you guys wishing for failure or success.

Maybe Fabia finally got teamed up with the right people and is moving in the right direction. I just looked at the stock. I pray you guys are wrong and so far as I can see you are.

Jun 26th, at 9: Jun 26th, at The people over here in my beck of the woods are pretty happy about the last year or so. And they look to be all in for future design upgrades and features.

Wor l d International is an MLM opportunity. If you want to discuss non-MLM companies, taxes and what not, do it elsewhere. I call BS on affiliate memberships as not being an investment.

Anytime you put money up in hopes of gaining a future profit I would call that an investment. Within the context of comments on this review, anything that has nothing to do with Wor l d International and to a lesser extent the MLM industry.

Companies with completely different business models are governed by different laws. Wow that may break the bank for a whole lot of people. Recruitment took off with the Helo model.

Have you not been reading? Primarily getting paid when you sell to recruited affiliates is a pyramid scheme in MLM ref: The majority of sales need to be to retail customers. If an MLM company is primarily generating revenue from affiliates, regardless of what affiliates are spending the money on, that company is operating as a pyramid scheme.

Do you know how many are customers and how many are affiliates. Where is the line drawn that would constitute a legitimate business and not a Ponzi scheme? Generally speaking though you can make an educated guess on whether significant retail activity is taking place by looking at the compensation plan and seeing what affiliates are paid to do.

It sounds to me like you decide to ignore it… Your choice. Poor analogy and a kind of BS excuse to me. Edison and Jobs suffered while struggling to invent and produce ingenious and unique products.

Galdi has no research centre — his physical products were merely dropshipped cheap China craps if they were delivered to customers at all. Hundreds of happy people celebrating first Power cloud plant opening.

Come on Fred — Fabio is a typical serial scammer. Why should he change himself? You mess with wrong people. There can be only two results: You win by becoming one of the scammers and top recruiters.

Or you loose money, friends, reputation. And please — could you send a link with a proof of Toshiba cooperation with Helo World? People were basically happy for one or almost two years with Powerclouds, Telme, AdKash… Bait and switch strategy.

You never answered my question earlier. Are all MLMs bad? Is it stock market operated under US supervision? Jun 27th, at 9: Jun 27th, at As any doctor knows getting your patient to regularly take their blood pressure is very difficult, yet a day to day pattern of blood pressure is crucial in understanding and treating high blood pressure.

Anecdotally in my office I compared it to a manual BP and a nurse taken BP and it seemed quite accurate, so possibly it may be useful when averaged over time for a patient, especially if the alternative is having no readings at all.

On their radar supposedly is glucose monitoring, which would be huge if it happens. Will they have a way to store their data? If not then this becomes a paperweight very quickly. Jun 28th, at 2: I have been trialling a Helo LX a friend signed up and bought the family pack.

Its a nice product the packaging is beautiful and the readings for blood pressure do not seem to far away from readings from other monitors. It reads heart rate, breath rate, mood and energy.

But that is IT. No blood sugar or blood alcohol readings, which really would make it unique. It remains to be seen if these apps appear, which may justify the price level.

But, it is clear there are similar and much cheaper alternatives and the Helo starts to look like a slightly modified Chinese product available on drop shipping. I think the numbers are right.

There is a FB based group called UCan2 which is doing its hardest to encourage as many people as possible to participate in webinars and various other activities with a view to signing them up.

There seems to be little interest in actually promoting the products and it is clear that they are not interested. Like all previous World products there is much emphasis on silly titles like President.

These people like to go off to Bangkok for a one day conference with other Presidents. World seems to allow two partners to become Presidents. So the reality is that to achieve President status quickly, it needs to input of 4 people not just one.

Even the stock market listing details are vague. As noted previously, alleged scammers such as the Islam Brothers have appeared as Presidents — remarkably fast! In conclusion, whilst the Helo product is nice but not unique, it is overpriced unless the new features come online soon.

World is clearly about hyping the product s and then working with other well known MLM players to entice others in with the promise of a business opportunity that will give them a millionaire lifestyle.

The products are not being shipped within a reasonable time frame and World remains an opaque company. Jun 28th, at 3: There is no monthly fee for me. I have my Helo set up to give me updates every hour.

As explained to me, if you had say an elderly parent that was living alone and you just wanted to checkin on them and their vitals to see how they are. You could do that from anywhere with your phone.

It allows you to follow be followed. Say you bought a family pack, it would cover all Helos in that subscription. Jun 28th, at 4: Jun 28th, at 6: Jun 28th, at 7: I compared it to a manual BP and a nurse taken BP and it seemed quite accurate, so possibly it may be useful when averaged over time for a patient, especially if the alternative is having no readings at all.

If you screw something up the liability is on you. Jun 28th, at 8: Dang you wrote a book. Anyway you can google Toshiba World Global Network and get plenty of 3rd party articles explaining the relationship between the two companies.

The Wallstreet Journal wrote a good article and also illustrated Worlds stock history and momentum. I just found out that World is having the largest webinar in network marketing industry at 8: Over from all over the world have registered.

Guess what my Helo is still on my arm doing exactly what I bought it for. No I just googled all that to try to see if his points were credible. If I could I would go back thru my google history and screen shot everything I just read and down load it on here.

Look it all up for yourself. Jun 28th, at Just watched the live stream of World. It had several introductions of top money earner that gave a short story of why World. For the most part they knew with all the benefits of the Helo, that it was a no brainier.

Then it went into the presentation of what the Helo is and its benefits, talked with the concept designer for the Apple IPhone and watch and also a guy named Taylor Worre. Chad and his wife put on the webinar and their last request was to get back to who ever invited you to get back to them with just a simple answer of your interest level.

A for very intested from both a product and business opportunity, B for interested from just a product only standpoint and C for no interest at all. I had seen a presentation on video before I bought mine but this was more like a slide presentation with breaks to bring guest on to tell their own short story.

All in all very informative. Jun 28th, at 1: Skeptik It reads heart rate, breath rate, mood and energy. Either way when people see they can get it cheaper its game over on all the people you duped into buying one.

Its so easy to look up prices on things its not like years ago where it was hard to compare and shop with so few choices. Any future patent applications with respect to our technology may not be granted, and, if granted, patents may be challenged or invalidated.

In addition, issued patents may not provide us with any competitive advantages and may be challenged by third parties. This is nothing more than a pulse oximeter, and one is available in every smartphone already with a free app.

Retail sales was listed as ZERO. Jun 29th, at MLMers are some of the best liars. Jun 29th, at 1: No sales figures are given on the manufacturers website. Jun 29th, at 2: Jun 29th, at 4: Jun 29th, at 5: As I and others have pointed out, the OTC disclosure they filed after that convention reports they do not have any patents or patent applications in process.

Found this youtube video of their Bangkok convention last month, after the OTC disclosure was filed —. Skip to about Jun 29th, at 7: But — thanks you for the hint, I did it now. Who profits more from this press release?

Definitely World, not Toshiba. I am not sure. The press release is in fact innocent and seems to be true message: Toshiba produces special processor which are — besides other things — also used in Helo fitness bands … so did World bribe someone from Toshiba to publish this?

Or had World a friendly and cooperating webmaster in Toshiba — who knows? Specifically — World had positive reviews of their past products in fact: They know how to buy publicity.

It was true for phones, tablets, routers, remote keyboards, glasses… I referred to the past products, but it seems to to be true again for Helo band. Jun 29th, at 8: Jun 29th, at 9: And it was launched at the end of You can assume that a good chunk of cheap Chinese fitness bands use the chip too.

And if you want to spit the dummy do it somewhere else. The identical backplates are hard to explain by any other reason than having the same internals:. Jun 29th, at 6: But I would not purchase it through World whose prices of dropshipped products are rather inflated.

MLMing is a faulty, inefficient method which requires the customer to typicallly overpay or over buy. They use the overpayment as Ponzi money. Fred — As a customer of your buddy, and since you love the product, why not be a good friend and send some customers to buy from your buddy?

The word inherently should come to mind. Jun 30th, at Just to add a little information that was left out. This device is more than a fitness tracker, it performs an EKG, blood pressure, breath rate, and everything a fitness tracker does.

Got the device, and the damn thing works. As far as a display, I think the next one coming out will have one do not quote me on that, but honestly who needs a display when everyone is glued to their phones anywase.

Info is sent to an app on the phone. So if your in great health, have no medical issues, a lower costing device may be better for you, but if you do have health issues, you need to take a serious look at this device.

Jun 30th, at 4: Fred As a product, the Helo is a nice product I have a Helo LX but it is way overpriced and as it is possible to buy a similar type of product and indeed one with more features for a fraction of the Helo retail price, then the conclusion has to be that selling Helos at this price level is not sustainable.

However, World is not really interested in the sale of Helos — its business is that of growing a network of sellers who buy the product, at its inflated price, in order to be able to sign up more people who sign up more people…etc.

If you were really interested in a health monitor, why would you pay up to 10x the price of a comparable product? Exactly which product can I buy that will do what the Helo will do for a much cheaper price.

I want to compare for myself apples to apples. I was up last night and a notification popped up saying that I was getting an upgrade with the firmware. And yes I will on the mosquito shield. Jun 30th, at 5: Jun 30th, at 6: Jun 30th, at 7: Comparing it with an IPhone is not relevant as you cannot go and buy an iPhone for a fraction of the price that Apple sells them for.

Your are apparently too much in love with your Helo World to see the reality like lovers do. But what I see here is the same old song and pattern:. Give people some buzzword product any product — for the stage two product nature and quality is irrelevant.

Or other competitive products — again for much less. Jun 30th, at 2: Anyone attempting to sell a Helo via MLM, is competing against multi billion dollar companies with multi million dollar advertising budgets whose products already have brand recognition AND no name usually Chinese companies with similar, if not identical products at a much lower price point both types freely available, both online and in retail stores, providing instant gratification for those unwilling to wait for delivery.

Jun 30th, at 3: My girlfriend life partner is involved with this company and has been involved with three other MLM companies. One company had actual good products. The other two were basically scams.

This company looks to be another short termsuccess. Jun 30th, at 8: Found it on alibaba for 1 piece min no bulk order requirement — nolink: Jun 30th, at 9: My comment above got cut off by me by mistake.

This company has all the marks of a pump and dump. Stock was even put on stock watch for a while in January. Financials sketchy and always posted very late. Their own recent and late financials with the SEC say there are no patents or applications filed and there is a far distance between a patent application filed and a pending patent.

So this is just another baseless claim. I spoke to two of the leaders in the MLM part of this company and neither had bothered to read the financials. Note how many shares are outstanding.

A ridiculous amount for a company like this. Why is WGN willing to publicly and officially acknowledge only three 3 features, leaving all the rest to third party generated content? I think WGN knows better and instead endeavors to maintain plausible deniability by hiding behind their third party associates, the claims for which WGN technically has no legal culpability.

I am surprised with the lack of any independent reviews of this company or its product Helo. There are plenty of really amateurish youtube MLM videos but really nothing else. I would never invest in a company with such a poor record and not standing by its products.

For a world headquarters in Florida it also appears to have very few employees and my guess is that it is a small office if that. The company is also fond of corporate hell games.

I was also surprised by the lack of critical content out there, especially considering the amount of people that have been burned from the legacy schemes like powerclouds, space crap, lumina, etc.

I show friends all the time and tell them where I got it. Everybody is different with different needs and wants. I just pass along the information and they decide. Jul 1st, at I had not seen this agreement language.

Helo is still quite new and has not gone through its cycle yet I bet the company will fall on its face on customer service for instance ; and. The wonderful life changing claims the company is promising are still a moving target they can keep delaying these promises for awhile to keep folks on the hook.

How likely is that? Especially coming from a pink sheet OTC company with a history of failed products. But the ability of many a person to continue to believe in the face of contrary facts when he is promised riches is boundless.

Or a different brand and save even more? Yes, I am contradicting what I said earlier on purpose about sending your buddy customers. Jul 1st, at 3: Alibaba is just an e-commerce platform that sells products just like Amazon and EBay does.

Quality Technologies actually assembles the Qt. I did however see an article about Quality and World forming a partnership. The CEO of Quality had expressed all good things about world and they very happy with the MLM model and bringing over 3 million Helos and 1 million smart phones to the market.

But, you have promoted Alibaba and indirectly Quality. Jul 1st, at 9: Fred or anyone else — please let me know how to register as a developer and access the open API. Jul 1st, at 8: The group rebuilt itself within a year by conducting quality checks on computers for new buyers.

Lenovo soon started developing a circuit board that would allow IBM-compatible personal computers to process Chinese characters. This product was Lenovo's first major success.

Lenovo also tried and failed to market a digital watch. Liu said, "Our management team often differed on which commercial road to travel. This led to big discussions, especially between the engineering chief and myself.

He felt that if the quality of the product was good, then it would sell itself. But I knew this was not true, that marketing and other factors were part of the eventual success of a product.

In, Lenovo started to manufacture and market computers using its own brand name. In May, Lenovo placed its first recruitment advertisement. The ad was placed on the front page of the China Youth News.

Such ads were quite rare in China then. Out of the respondents, were selected to take a written employment exam. Although interviewers initially only had authority to hire 16 people, 58 were given offers.

The new staff included 18 people with graduate degrees, 37 with undergraduate degrees, and three students with no university-level education. Their average age was Liu Chuanzhi received government permission to form a subsidiary in Hong Kong and to move there along with five other employees.

Liu's father, already in Hong Kong, furthered his son's ambitions through mentoring and facilitating loans. Liu moved to Hong Kong in To save money during this period, Liu and his co-workers walked instead of taking public transportation.

To keep up appearances, they rented hotel rooms for meetings. Prior to its IPO, many analysts were optimistic about Lenovo. The company was praised for its good management, strong brand recognition, and growth potential.

Analysts also worried about Lenovo's profitability. Lenovo's IPO was massively over-subscribed. Proceeds from the offering were used to finance sales offices in Europe, North America and Australia, to expand and improve production and research and development, and to increase working capital.

When Lenovo was first listed, its managers thought the only purpose of going public was to raise capital. They had little understanding of the rules and responsibilities that went along with running a public company.

Before Lenovo conducted its first secondary offering in, Liu proudly announced the company's intent to mainland newspapers only to have its stock halted for two days by regulators to punish his statement.

This occurred several times until Liu learned that he had to choose his words carefully in public. The first time Liu traveled to Europe on a "roadshow" to discuss his company's stock, he was shocked by the skeptical questions he was subjected to and felt offended.

Liu later came to understand that he was accountable to shareholders. I relied on my own initiative to do things. We began to think about issues of credibility. Legend began to learn how to become a truly international company.

Mary Ma, Lenovo's chief financial officer from to, was in charge of investor relations. Under her leadership, Lenovo successfully integrated Western-style accountability into its corporate culture.

Lenovo's emphasis on transparency earned it a reputation for the best corporate governance among mainland Chinese firms. All major issues regarding its board, management, major share transfers, and mergers and acquisitions were fairly and accurately reported.

While Hong Kong-listed firms were only required to issue financial reports twice per year, Lenovo followed the international norm of issuing quarterly reports. Lenovo created an audit committee and a compensation committee with non-management directors.

The company started roadshows twice per year to meet institutional investors. Ma organized the first-ever investor relations conference held in Mainland China. Liu and Ma co-hosted the conference and both gave speeches on corporate governance.

Lenovo's new logo, created by Saatchi, New York, can be changed by its advertising agencies and sales partners, within restrictions, to fit the context. It has a lounging "e" and is surrounded by a box that can be changed to use a relevant scene, solid color, or photograph.

Lenovo's Chief Marketing Officer David Roman said, "When we first started looking at it, it wasn't about just a change in typography or the look of the logo. We asked 'If we really are a net-driven, customer-centric company, what should the logo look like?

The bonds will be sold in Hong Kong with coupon ranging from 4. This is only the second sale of bonds in Lenovo's history. Financial commentators noted that Lenovo was paying a premium to list the bonds in yuan given relatively low costs for borrowing in American dollars.

The Tianxi computer was designed to make it easy for inexperienced Chinese consumers to use computers and access the Internet. One of its most important features was a button that instantly connected users to the Internet and opened the Web browser.

Lenovo has a dedicated mergers and acquisitions team that tracks the progress of these integrations. Lenovo has an annual meeting where the management of newly acquired companies meets with its top executives.

In these meetings, held in English, Lenovo explains its global strategy and how new executives fit into its plans. Lenovo acquired IBM 's personal computer business in, including the ThinkPad laptop and tablet lines.

This acquisition made Lenovo the third-largest computer maker worldwide by volume. We got the ThinkPad brand, IBM's more advanced PC manufacturing technology and the company's international resources, such as its global sales channels and operation teams.

These three elements have shored up our sales revenue in the past several years. IBM acquired an The deal has been already approved by Europe, China and the United States.

After closing, Lenovo said that its goal was to become the world's largest maker of servers. Lenovo also announced plans to start integrating IBM's workforce. Lenovo said that it has no immediate intent to cut jobs.

Lenovo said that its x86 servers will be available to all its channel partners. Lenovo plans to cut prices on x86 products in order to gain market share. As of, LeGarden had more than 1, programs available for the LePhone.

At the same time, LeGarden counted 2, individual developers and developer companies as members. Lenovo entered the smartphone market in and quickly became the largest vendor of smartphones in Mainland China.

Lenovo passed Apple to become the No. The companies said in a statement that they would establish a new company called Lenovo NEC Holdings, to be registered in the Netherlands. Lenovo has a five-year option to expand its stake in the joint venture.

This joint venture was intended to boost Lenovo's worldwide sales by expanding its presence in Japan, a key market for personal computers. NEC spun off its personal computer business into the joint venture.

Lenovo and NEC also agreed to explore cooperating in other areas such as servers and tablet computers. Roderick Lappin, chairman of the Lenovo-NEC joint venture, told the press that the two companies will expand their co-operation to include the development of tablet computers.

These included over 3, patent families in countries around the world. The purchase included standards-essential patents for 3G and LTE cellular technologies and other patents related to smartphones and tablets.

In June, Lenovo announced that it planned to acquire control of Medion, a German electronics manufacturing company. Lenovo said the acquisition would double its share of the German computer market, making it the third-largest vendor by sales after Acer and Hewlett-Packard.

The deal, which closed in the third quarter of the same year, was the first in which a Chinese company acquired a well-known German company. Gerd Brachmann, chairman of Medion, agreed to sell two-thirds of his 60 percent stake in the company.

He will be paid in cash for 80 percent of the shares and will receive 20 percent in Lenovo stock. That would give him about one percent of Lenovo. An additional payment of million reals was made dependent upon performance benchmarks.

Lenovo cited their desire to take advantage of increased sales due to the World Cup that would be hosted by Brazil and the Summer Olympics and CCE's reputation for quality. LenovoEMC's products were formerly offered under the Iomega brand name. LenovoEMC's products are designed for small and medium-sized businesses that do not have the budgets for enterprise-class data storage.

LenovoEMC is part of a broader partnership between the two companies announced in August Lenovo is expected to benefit from the relatively high profit margins of the NAS market.

As of February, Google owns about 5. Lenovo also got the future Motorola Mobility product roadmap. Lenovo has stated that Motorola was purchased in large part due to its long-standing relationships with cellular network operators in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Lenovo previously had difficulty breaking into the United Kingdom due to the high proportion of customers who sign contracts and receive phones from carriers. A Lenovo executive said, "There are lots of reasons why we bought Motorola but primarily because it has a history of distribution in the UK.

Motorola has long and established relationships with routes to market in North America and the UK, where people are tied to their network operator. Lenovo received approval from the European Union for its acquisition of Motorola in June In a statement the European Union said, "The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns in relation to smart mobile devices smartphones and tablets, given the limited market position of the parties and the presence of other strong suppliers in the market.

The acquisition was completed on 30 October Motorola Mobility will remain headquartered in Chicago, and continue to use the Motorola brand, but Liu Jun—president of Lenovo's mobile device business, became the company's leader.

The Chinese name simplified Chinese: It can also imply creativity. In, Yang Yuanqing decided to abandon the Legend brand name to expand internationally. In April, the company publicly announced its new name, "Lenovo", with an advertising campaign including huge billboards and primetime television ads.

Lenovo spent 18 million RMB on an eight-week television advertising campaign. The billboards showed the Lenovo logo against blue sky with copy that read, "Transcendence depends on how you think.

In February, Lenovo became the subject of controversy for having bundled software identified as malware on some of its laptops. The software, Superfish Visual Discovery, is a web browser add-on that injects price comparison advertising into search engine results pages.

To intercept HTTPS - encrypted communications, the software also installed a self-signed digital certificate. The head of Superfish responded to security concerns by saying the vulnerability was "inadvertently" introduced by Komodia, which built the application.

From October through June, the UEFI firmware on certain Lenovo models had contained software known as "Lenovo Service Engine," which Lenovo says automatically sent non-identifiable system information to Lenovo the first time Windows is connected to the internet, and on laptops, automatically installs the Lenovo OneKey Optimizer program software considered to be bloatware as well.

This process occurs even on clean installations of Windows. It was found that this program had been automatically installed using a new feature in Windows 8 , Windows Platform Binary Table, which allows executable files to be stored within UEFI firmware for execution on startup, and is meant to "allow critical software to persist even when the operating system has changed or been reinstalled in a 'clean' configuration"; specifically, anti-theft security software.

The software was discontinued after it was found that aspects of the software had security vulnerabilities, and did not comply with revised guidelines for appropriate usage of WPBT. At a third time in, criticism arose that Lenovo might have installed software that looked suspicious on their commercial Think-PC lines.

This was discovered by Computerworld writer Michael Horowitz, who had purchased several Think systems with the Customer Feedback program installed, which seemed to log usage data and metrics.

Horowitz also criticized other media for quoting his original article and saying that Lenovo preinstalled spyware, as he himself never used that term in this case and he also said that he does not consider the software he found to be spyware.

As of June, a Duo Labs report stated that Lenovo was still installing bloatware, some of which leads to security vulnerabilities as soon as the user turns on their new PC. Lenovo expanded significantly in through its acquisition of IBM 's personal computer business, including its ThinkPad and ThinkCentre lines.

The IdeaPad line of consumer-oriented laptop computers was introduced in January The IdeaPad's design language differs markedly from the ThinkPad and has a more consumer-focused look and feel.

On September 21, , Lenovo confirmed that their Yoga series is not meant to be compatible with Linux operating systems, that they know it is impossible to install Linux on some models, and that it is not supported.

All IdeaCentres are all-in-one machines, combining processor and monitor into a single unit. In, Lenovo added a table computer to the IdeaCentre line. Thanks to its use of Windows 8, the Horizon can also serve as a desktop computer when set upright.

Howard, a vice president at Lenovo's mobile division, the company would release a Windows Phone product if there is market demand. Lenovo has implemented an aggressive strategy to replace Samsung Electronics as Mainland China market's top smartphone vendor.

Data from Analysys International shows that Lenovo experienced considerable growth in smartphone sales in China during Specifically, it saw its market share increase to IDC analysts said that Lenovo's success is due to its "aggressive ramping-up and improvements in channel partnerships.

Lenovo has the confidence to outperform Samsung and Apple, at least in the Chinese market. However, its attempt was reportedly blocked by the Government of Canada, citing security concerns due to the use of BlackBerry devices by prominent members of the government.

An official stated that "we have been pretty consistent that the message is Canada is open to foreign investment and investment from China in particular but not at the cost of compromising national security".

In January, Lenovo announced a proposed deal to acquire Motorola Mobility to bolster its plans for the U. Lenovo plus Motorola was the 3rd largest producer of smartphones by volume in the world between and In the reorganization which followed, Lenovo was uncertain how to brand its Motorola smartphones.

Lenovo Connect eliminates the need to buy new SIM cards when crossing borders. Lenovo's manufacturing operations are a departure from the usual industry practice of outsourcing to contract manufacturers.

Lenovo instead focuses on vertical integration in order to avoid excessive reliance on original equipment manufacturers and to keep down costs. The speed of innovation is very fast, so you must know how to keep up with the pace, control inventory, to match supply with demand and handle very fast turnover.

Lenovo Chief Technology Officer George He said that vertical integration is having an important role in product development. He stated, "If you look at the industry trends, most innovations for" PCs, smartphones, tablets and smart TVs are related to innovation of key components—display, battery and storage.

Differentiation of key parts is so important. So we started investing more Lenovo responded by reducing the number of KPIs from to 5, offering intensive training to managers, and working to create a global Lenovo culture.

Lenovo also doubled-down on vertical integration and manufacturing near target markets in order to cut costs at time when its competitors were making increased use of outsourcing off-shoring.

By, Lenovo ranked 20th on Gartner's list of top 50 supply chains, whereas in the company was unranked. In, Lenovo partially moved production of its ThinkPad line of computers to Japan.

Akaemi Watanabe, president of Lenovo Japan, said, "As a Japanese, I am glad to see the return to domestic production and the goal is to realize full-scale production as this will improve our image and make the products more acceptable to Japanese customers.

Jul 1st, at 8: Fred still sounds like a smooth MLMer pitching this.

Apple, IBM, etc all have a complex retail and wholesale structure. They make their money by building something for less then they sell it. And they paid you when your sales exceeded X number of dollars.

As a former Amway guy. World is still producing it for hardly anything, selling it to you at an inflated price, then inviting you to sell it at the same price. Do you not get how the only ones that really make money is world?

Draw your own conclusion about quality of such competition. She published fake product hype videos from world corp offices, including one last year of her unveiling the supposed second generation double screened infolio which was clearly nothing more than a piece of plastic.

Jul 13th, at Jul 14th, at Jul 14th, at 4: The latest appears to be a claim that a Press Release was issued that the company is going to Nasdaq. I can find no such official press release but only a claim on the company blog.

This company appears to be artful in making untrue and grandiose claims through affiliates and third parties — this is often done to avoid legal liability. Given the requirements and vast differences between a major exchange like Nasdaq and the OTC and pink sheets at that — even after a thirty day death skull stock watch was placed!

Its financials, as lacking in detail and always late in posting, frankly just stink. It would have to pull of something like a reverse merger with a listed failing company.

And the claims of products to come from this company are simply for the naive and the gullible. What this really is, is a scam pump and dump married to a classic pyramid scheme compensation plan with a lot of people taking advantage of a lot more people.

This company is a short term MLM wet dream. Jul 14th, at 5: His resignation was not a result of any disagreements with the Registrant. As of May 12, and simultaneously with Mr. Also as of May 12, , Mr.

Jul 18th, at I naively bought into this deal early in the year because of my boss — who actually made a lot of money in Visalus — which I immediately identified as crap when he approached me with it years ago.

Can you monitor your loved ones with them or receive an alert if they are in danger? Do they pay you to wear them. Do they have their own app store? Can they perform an EKG?

As for the Biozen, do some research before you open your mouths. It has been scientifically proven to work. Pretty much every MLM pyramid scheme these days has a product to sell ref: It does what it says it does.

It is not a fitness band, it is a device that I consider a safety device. Aug 3rd, at 9: Aug 3rd, at Nobody pay you to wear it. You pay them to wear it PLUS monthly charges.

You get paid when you convince other people to buy it. Wait, were you going to mention that next? You can buy a genuine safety device including a built-in GPS and has no monthly fees. Just for your education, Apple Watch 2 had a panic button app since, and Android Wear had a panic app since Who told you that, your upline?

See Herbalife and Vemma. Pyramid schemes have people willing to pay for a product because of the lure of the income opportunity. This often results in a grandiose opinion of the product that they think is going to make them money.

Stop lying yourself about the real reason! On the other side, I have to admit HELO is the fairest, most realistic project and possibly the best opportunity from World and Fabio Galdi so far but it does not mean it is a good and fair business at all.

The ThinkPad is a line of business-oriented laptop computers known for their boxy black design, modeled after a traditional Japanese lunchbox.

The ThinkCentre is a line of business-oriented desktop computers which was introduced in by IBM and since has been produced and sold by Lenovo since Similar to the ThinkPad line of computers, there have been budget lines of ThinkCentre branded computers in the past.

Some examples of this include: M55e series, A50 series, M72 series. These "budget" lines are typically "thin clients" however. Lenovo ThinkStations are workstations designed for high-end computing.

High-end monitors are marketed under the ThinkVision name. Lenovo also announced another inch 4K touch-enabled device running Android that can function as an all-in-one PC or an external display for other devices.

The X24 includes a wireless charging base for mobile phones. Both monitors have HDMI 2. Both displays have dual-array microphones and 3-watt stereo speakers.

As of January, Lenovo only manufactured phones that use the Android operating system from Google. Numerous press reports indicated that Lenovo planned to release a phone running Windows Phone 8 , According to J.

In November, members of Lenovo management made statements that Lenovo would use the Motorola brand for all its smartphones. The company reversed course in March and announced that the Motorola brand name would be used in all regions in future products.

In November, Lenovo said it would soon unveil a smart television product called LeTV, expected for release in the first quarter of In the future, users will have many smart devices and will desire an integrated experience of hardware, software and cloud services.

In March, Lenovo announced that it projected smart television sales surpassing one million units for Rumors that Lenovo was developing a wearable device were confirmed in October after the company submitted a regulatory finding to the Federal Communications Commission.

The device, branded a "Smartband," has a battery life of seven days. It has an optical heart-rate monitor and can be used to track distance and time spent running and calories burned. It can also notify the user of incoming calls and texts.

The Smartband went on sale in October Lenovo started offering the device for sale on its website without a formal product announcement. REACHit is a storage management application. It is designed to help users access, organize, and search files across multiple devices and operating systems.
